This 14-day journey through Costa Rica combines discovery of the country’s incredible natural treasures with a wealth of culture, historical sites and local traditions. Day 1: San José – Arrival & City Orientation

Arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Explore San José at a gentle pace, visiting plazas, the National Theatre, and museums showcasing Costa Rican history. Spend the afternoon strolling through San José's parks or exploring colorful artisan markets. Discover historical architecture, hear stories from local guides and enjoy a relaxed introduction to Costa Rican culture. Enjoy dinner at a traditional restaurant featuring local cuisine.

Day 2: San José to Rio Celeste – Bijagua de Upala

Travel to Bijagua de Upala near Tenorio Volcano National Park. Along the way, learn about historical coffee plantations and local communities. Check into your accommodation and take a guided walk to appreciate regional flora and fauna. Stop along the route to photograph scenic waterfalls and rivers. Learn from your guide about the local communities and their history, as well as the ecological significance of the rainforest.

Day 3: Rio Celeste & Waterfall – Nature and History

Take a guided hike to the Rio Celeste waterfall, learning about its geological formation. Day 5: Boca Tapada – River Exploration

Take a calm river tour, observing crocodiles, birds and reptiles. Day 9: Turrialba – Cultural Landscapes & Volcano Views

Explore the charming town of Turrialba, where you can discover coffee plantations, historic landmarks and vibrant artisan markets. Take a leisurely stroll to catch a glimpse of the breathtaking Arenal Volcano in the distance and learn about the significant effects of volcanic activity on the local communities and their daily lives

Day 10: Turrialba to Los Santos – Savegre De Aguirre

Travel to Los Santos in the Talamanca highlands. Observe quetzals and other birds while learning about the cultural history of the region, including indigenous practices and rural life. Observe rare birds such as quetzals, enjoy panoramic views and learn about the indigenous heritage of the Talamanca mountains. Participate in guided nature walks designed to provide both education and immersion in Costa Rica's biodiversity.

Day 11: Savegre to Uvita – Pacific Coast

Drive to Uvita, visiting local towns and historical sites along the route. Explore coastal ecosystems and observe marine wildlife. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing on the beach or strolling through Uvita.  Relax along pristine beaches, explore the coastline, and visit local cultural sites. Learn about the history of the region and traditional fishing practices, while enjoying peaceful observation of marine life.

Day 12: Uvita – Ballena National Marine Park

Take a calm boat or kayak tour at Whale’s Tail, observing marine life. Learn about historical use of the area by local fishing communities and coastal ecosystems. Take a guided kayak or boat trip to observe whales, dolphins and shorebirds. Learn from local guides about the ecology and conservation of the park while exploring mangroves and coastal habitats.

Day 13: Uvita to San José – Scenic Return
