Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Athens – The Heart of Greece

Your adventure in Greece begins in Athens, a city where years and years of history meet modern vibrancy. Known as the birthplace of democracy, Athens is not only one of the oldest cities in the world but also a dynamic metropolis that mixes the ancient with the modern. As you step off the plane, the first thing you’ll notice, except the heat wave, is the way the ancient ruins can be found between the modern buildings. This is one of the things that makes Athens so fascinating.

Upon arrival, take some time to relax and enjoy the energy of this historic city. Walk around Plaka, Athens’ charming old neighborhood, where small streets are lined with vibrant shops, cozy cafés and beautiful restaurants. The smell of freshly baked bread and the sounds of local conversations create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Acropolis stands proud behind you! Looking at it, it's easy to understand why Athens is the birthplace of philosophy and civilization, as mentioned before. Take your time to explore or perhaps enjoy a delicious dinner with a view of the highlighted Parthenon—an unforgettable first night in Greece.

There are plenty of churches, monasteries and chapels around Athens as the city has a huge Christian background. Most of these religious buildings have impressive and beautiful architecture, each telling a story of faith and culture.

Your trip begins with a visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, one of the most important religious buildings in the city. Day 4: Welcome to Patmos – A Sacred Island

Today you are flying to Patmos, a small yet significant island in the Aegean Sea. Known as the 'Island of the Apocalypse,' Patmos holds great religious importance, as it was the place of exile for Saint John. Here, he received the visions that would later become the Book of Revelation. Patmos is a peaceful destination, with a characteristic landscape full of natural beauty with cliffs, greenery and clear waters.

Once you get there, the island's peaceful beauty hits you right away. Skala, which is Patmos' main town, is just adorable. It's full of those classic white houses, tiny little sweet shops and really chilled-out cafés. It's the perfect, welcoming calm you need to properly loosen up after all the busy time in Athens. You should definitely have a walk down the harbor and grab a relaxing lunch right by the water. The fresh seafood and Greek dishes are incredible and it's so nice just watching the boats sail by.
