Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome to Spain and Zaragoza

Arrive in Zaragoza and collect your rental car. After checking into your hotel, take a leisurely evening stroll around the city’s historic streets. Admire the magnificent Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar and discover vibrant tapas bars, sampling local delicacies and soaking in the lively atmosphere of Zaragoza’s old quarter.

Day 2 – Visit Canfranc via Jaca

Begin your self-drive north to the historic Canfranc International Railway Station. En route, pause in the charming town of Jaca to explore its 16th-century citadel and quaint streets. Upon arrival, settle into the unique Canfranc Hotel, a former railway station with fascinating stories from the Spanish Civil War and World War II. The building mixes a perfect blend of history and grandeur.

Day 3 – Canfranc and Lárrede

Start your day with a guided tour of the hotel, hearing about the hotel’s role in espionage during the war and seeing the secret bunkers still hidden in the surrounding countryside. Exploring the local nature and seeing the old underground constructions, then experiencing the spectacular scenery of the Pyrenees mountains. Seeing the remnants of the fortifications built by Franco in beautiful forested valleys and rugged mountain scenery.

Day 4 – Travel to Aínsa via Monte Perdido

Travel deeper into the heart of Ordesa National Park. Meet your guide for a 4x4 ascent to the Monte Perdido lookouts, then hike through dramatic gorges and valleys. Enjoy panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks and lush forests and spend the evening in medieval Aínsa, wandering its cobbled streets and savoring the historic charm of one of Spain’s most picturesque towns.

Day 5 – Welcome to Benasque

Head to Benasque, nestled in one of the Pyrenees’ most spectacular valleys. Take to the skies with a paragliding experience, soaring above mountains exceeding 3,000 meters. Feel the thrill while enjoying bird’s-eye views of glacial valleys, high-altitude meadows and the rugged terrain below.

Day 6 – Benasque

Through the fields, through black pine woods and through meadows of the mountains you will visit the traditional bordas of the farmers and you will be able to know their way of life. We will contemplate the impressive glacial formations and admire the fantastic views of Posets, Perdiguero and Maladeta peaks. You will make a stop for a picnic by the river and you will visit the Ardonés Waterfall. Afterwards continue through the village of Cerler having the option to do it on horseback.

Day 7 – Departure from Zaragoza

Return to Zaragoza, stopping in Alquézar to explore its medieval streets and timeless charm. Complete your journey back in Zaragoza, drop off your rental car and prepare for your flight home, carrying unforgettable memories of the Pyrenees’ wild beauty.
