Upon arrival in Barcelona, you will check in to your family-friendly hotel. Later on, you can take a walk down the famous street of La Rambla. This lively street is filled with street performers, markets, shops and more. Visit the famous Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, where you can admire the colorful stalls and taste local produce. In the evening, you can also visit the Plaça de Catalunya. The kids can play in the open spaces of this area and then return to the hotel for a well-deserved night’s rest.

Today’s schedule starts with an exploration of the park Güell, a fantastic spot where you can find hundreds of wonderful mosaics created in colors. After lunch, you will take an incredible guided tour of the Sagrada Família: not only you will be able to admire the intricate stone work which is one of the most peculiar of modern architecture but you will also learn the history of this wonderful spot which has become one of the symbols of the city of Barcelona. In the evening, you will have a fun family Gaudí mosaic workshop. Participants will be able to create their own mosaics using the countless images of Gaudí’s creations for inspiration.

Take a family walking tour through the Gothic Quarter, discovering hidden alleyways, unique shops and centuries-old architectural wonders. Visit the Cathedral of Barcelona and, optionally, explore the interactive Museu de la Xocolata, where children can engage with exhibits and even participate in chocolate-making activities. End the day with a visit to Mount Tibidabo for panoramic views and amusement park fun, before returning to the hotel.

Take the morning train to Montserrat. After arriving, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the rough mountains. With the cable car you will get up on the top. On the top you will visit the impressive Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey and the Black Madonna. After that you can go for an easy family hike along the marked trails. Along the hike you can look out for local flora and fauna. In the afternoon you will have lunch in a local restaurant and in the evening you return to Barcelona.

Take the morning train to Madrid (3 hours) and, upon arrival at the station, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, you can go to El Retiro Park where you can take a trip on a row boat, have fun in the playground for kids and teenagers or take part in a family Treasure Hunt in Puerta del Sol to introduce the children to Madrid.

Explore the Royal Palace on a guided family tour, highlighting royal history and child-friendly features. Stroll through Plaza Mayor and savor classic churros with chocolate before visiting the impressive Catedral de la Almudena. In the afternoon, participate in an interactive Spanish cooking class to prepare paella or tapas as a family, learning culinary techniques while enjoying local flavors.

Begin with a family-friendly guided tour of the Prado Museum, introducing children to masterpieces by Goya and Velázquez. Participate in a creative art workshop inspired by the museum’s collection. If you feel like it, you can spend the afternoon at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid, where children and adults alike can enjoy a range of rides and entertainment.

Get on the train and travel to the three cultures city, mix of religions, history and legends. Visit the impressive Toledo Cathedral and the Alcázar, lunch at a local restaurant where you will enjoy Castilian cuisine. In the afternoon visit a workshop where you will see how they make swords, learn about the famous Toledo steel and other local products. In the evening back to Madrid, have dinner and have a stroll around.

Conclude your adventure with your last Spanish breakfast of this trip and a final walk through Madrid’s charming streets.
