Argentina for Two: A 15-Day Tailored Honeymoon from Buenos Aires to Patagonia & Iguazú

Welcome to Buenos Aires! Upon your arrival at Ezeiza International Airport you will be greeted by your private driver who will transport you to your hotel in the city center. After checking into your hotel, you will meet your local guide who will then take you on a leisurely walking tour of the city. As the city has a lot of contrasts (European style, creativity and depth), you will first go to La Boca where you can see the famous Caminito street, the birthplace of tango. Then you will go to the political and historical heart of Argentina: Plaza de Mayo. Depending on how long you want to walk, you can also visit Palermo, a trendy district with beautiful parks, nice restaurants, cafes, boutiques and a very local atmosphere. The rest of the evening is at your leisure, you can go to a romantic restaurant to make a toast to start your trip to Argentina or you can go back to the hotel to relax after your long journey.

In the morning after breakfast, you cycle through the narrow streets of Buenos Aires’ most intimate neighborhoods, exploring the bike lanes of the city and pedaling into the Palermo Woods or ‘green lungs’ of the capital. The Rose Garden, designed by Carlos Thays, is truly stunning. Afterwards, you make your way through the stylish mansions of Palermo Chico and the upscale residential quarter of Barrio Parque with its impressive architecture and many embassies. In the afternoon, you pedal through the elegant neighborhood of Recoleta, one of the most upscale areas of the city. Among the many attractions here are the modern metal flower Floralis Genérica, the University of Buenos Aires, the National Library, Evita Square and last but not least the famous cemetery of Recoleta with the numerous ornate mausoleums of wealthy families, including that of Eva Perón. In the evening, you return to Palermo Soho to sample the local specialties such as empanadas, experience the lively atmosphere of the Güemes and Serrano squares and then continue at your leisure as you wish, returning to the hotel or in search of dinner in the capital.

This morning after breakfast, you depart on a flight to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in Argentina. Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel to rest and enjoy the hotel facilities. In the afternoon you depart to Tierra del Fuego National Park (11km from Ushuaia). This National Park is a unique world made up of lakes, lagoons, rivers, forests, mountains and a wild coastline. On this half-day excursion you shall see Mount Susana and the Southern Fuegian Railway, which can be taken for a short trip on board this famous train. You continue through the valley of the Pipo River to Ensenada Bay to admire the views of Redonda and Estorbo islands, Beagle Channel, the snowcapped mountains of the Sampaio Chain and, on your return, you shall visit Roca Lake, Lapataia Bay, the Green Lagoon and the Black Lagoon. You shall also see the remains of beavers which have modified a part of this wild and remote area. Lastly in the evening, you return to Ushuaia to spend a peaceful night at the end of the world.

After breakfast, experience Tierra del Fuego from a wonderfully varied perspective, combining nature, history, soft adventure and wildlife. Begin by boarding a canoe on the Lashifashaj River, paddling downstream toward the Beagle Channel and continuing east to Estancia Harberton. Estancia Harberton was the first settlement in this region. Explore the estancia and visit the Acatushún Museum, known for its impressive collection of Patagonian bird and marine mammal skeletons. In the afternoon, take a boat ride to observe Magellanic and Gentoo penguin colonies in their natural environment. Later, disembark on Gable Island, where you will walk among traces of the Yamana civilization and the area’s first settlers. Return to your hotel for an evening of quiet comfort after a day rich in wild beauty.

Today, your chauffeur will take you to the airport in time for your flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival at El Calafate airport, your representative will be waiting for you to take you to Estancia. This estancia is located in the heart of the landscapes of Los Glaciares National Park and is perfect for couples who want to experience the real Patagonia in a rural setting and with all the comforts. Here, you can learn about the area’s history, take part in the activities of the ranch and experience the unique rhythm of rural life. Activities such as sheep-shearing and other traditional practices will depend on the day. In the estancia you will find a cozy atmosphere, delicious food and you will feel at home quickly in its peaceful surroundings. A dominating landscape that will leave you breathless. Dinner and overnight stay at the estancia.

This morning begins at an unhurried pace, with breakfast and free time to enjoy the estancia. You may choose to relax, explore the surroundings or take part in one of the activities offered on the property. After a traditional lunch, embark on a boat journey across Brazo Rico, a branch of Lake Argentino, toward a special viewpoint that feels beautifully tucked away. A short 20-minute walk through a beech forest leads you to a breathtaking perspective of the southern face of Perito Moreno Glacier. Take time to absorb the scale and color of this natural masterpiece before returning to the boat to admire the ice from the water, perhaps with a whiskey chilled by glacier ice or a comforting hot chocolate in hand. Your afternoon continues on the glacier’s viewing footbridges, allowing you to appreciate its immense walls of blue-white ice from several angles. At the end of the day, transfer to El Calafate, check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Lace up your hiking shoes for a day shaped by fresh air and cinematic mountain views. Today’s walk takes you to the Los Cóndores and Las Águilas viewpoints, two rewarding trails that reveal sweeping vistas of the Adela, Torre and Fitz Roy ranges, as well as the Río de las Vueltas valley. Starting from El Chaltén, cross the bridge over the Fitz Roy River and continue toward the National Park Visitors’ Centre, where the trail begins. The well-marked path gradually climbs to the Los Cóndores viewpoint, an excellent place to watch condors glide above the valley. Nearby, Las Águilas viewpoint opens like a natural balcony over the vast Patagonian steppe. After your hike, settle into your accommodation in nature and positioned close to the trailheads for Laguna de los Tres and other classic walks. This evening, enjoy dinner surrounded by the quiet grandeur of Patagonia and, weather permitting, views toward Fitz Roy.

Wake up in the middle of nature and prepare for one of the most memorable trekking days of your Argentina honeymoon. Today’s route leads to Laguna de los Tres, the celebrated viewpoint facing Mount Fitz Roy. The trail begins through forest on the western slopes of Polo Mount, rising gradually toward Poincenot basecamp. Along the way, the scenery keeps unfolding: the Blanco River valley, the Piedras Blancas glacier, its lagoon and the sharp granite silhouettes that make El Chaltén one of Patagonia’s most iconic hiking destinations. The final ascent from Poincenot to Laguna de los Tres is challenging, but the reward is extraordinary. At the top, take your time. Sit together, admire the colors of the lagoon and enjoy the feeling of having reached one of Argentina’s great natural balconies. Later, trek back to your ecodome for dinner and another peaceful night in the mountains.

After breakfast, say goodbye to your Patagonian lodge and trade mountain trails for city lights as you return to Buenos Aires. After landing, your driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may wish to rest after the journey, revisit a favorite neighborhood, browse boutiques or settle into a café and watch the city move around you. This evening, Buenos Aires reveals one of its most passionate traditions. As the sun sets over a charming patio, discover the music and emotion behind Argentine tango. You will be introduced to its origins, rhythms and cultural meaning, creating a warm and personal evening rather than a conventional show.

Enjoy a relaxed morning and breakfast in Buenos Aires before flying north to Salta, where a very different Argentina awaits. This next chapter brings colonial architecture, Andean landscapes, high-altitude valleys and a slower, deeply atmospheric pace. The capital of the province of the same name, Salta sits at an altitude of approximately 1,187 meters at the foot of Cerro San Bernardo. On arrival, check in to your hotel and then head out independently to begin exploring. The historic 9 de Julio square is a wonderful starting point, especially as the city comes alive in the evening. For sunset, consider taking a taxi up to Cerro San Bernardo for panoramic views over Salta and the surrounding valley. It is a beautiful way to ease into northern Argentina before tomorrow’s full-day Andean discovery.

Depart Salta early and follow National Route 51 through the fertile Lerma Valley, where green fields and tobacco plantations give way to increasingly dramatic scenery. As the road climbs, the landscape transforms into the arid, sculptural beauty of the Quebrada del Toro. Here, you will cross the Toro Viaduct, part of the legendary Train to the Clouds route, with outstanding views of the rugged Andes. Continue through the village of Santa Rosa de Tastil, located near an important pre-Inca archaeological site and admire the colorful mountains and unusual rock formations that define this region. Your journey then reaches the vast white expanse of Salinas Grandes, Argentina’s salt flats, where lunch will take place. After lunch, explore the salt ponds with a local guide and learn more about this dazzling high-altitude environment. In the afternoon, travel along the winding Cuesta de Lipán road before descending to Purmamarca. This charming Andean village will be your home for the night and is best known for Cerro de los Siete Colores, the striking Hill of Seven Colors.

After breakfast, continue to the airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazú. On arrival, your driver will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free, giving you time to settle into the warmer, greener rhythm of Argentina’s subtropical northeast. If you feel like exploring, the Jardín de los Picaflores is a lovely option for nature lovers, offering the chance to observe hummingbirds in a colorful, peaceful setting. Another possibility is Hito Tres Fronteras, the viewpoint and monument marking the meeting point of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. You may also prefer to enjoy a slower afternoon at your hotel, cooling off by the pool and preparing for tomorrow’s unforgettable encounter with Iguazú Falls.

Visit the Argentine part of the Argentine Iguazú Falls National Park with about 275 waterfalls in it. The views from the upper and lower circuit are fantastic. The upper circuit has many great spots to view the waterfalls from above, the lower circuit contains Dos Hermanas, San Martín Island and many more waterfalls up close. Walking through the park you will get wet and hear the waterfalls all around you. The hike to Garganta del Diablo, also known as the Devil’s Throat, is the highlight of the day. This huge cascade is surrounded by a thick mist and is really, really loud. Sometimes the spray even creates a rainbow in the air. After this fantastic day you can return to your hotel where you can spend the evening as you like.

Start the day off with breakfast, then embark on a helicopter tour over Iguazú Falls. You will see how massive Iguazú and the surrounding river and tropical rainforest are from up high. After your incredible helicopter tour, cross into Brazil and visit the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls. Hike on the many catwalks and observe from the many lookouts up close and from above to take in the grandeur of the falls. You can get up close to the bottom of the waterfall that descends from Santa Maria Falls and observe the San Martín Island and the falls from that unique vantage point. Late in the afternoon, you return to Buenos Aires by plane and transfer to a beautiful Estancia. You can spend your last night in Argentina at this estancia, surrounded by the beautiful pampas, participating in a vast array of activities, including taking a dip in the pool, getting a massage, practicing polo or having a wonderful dinner in the estancia surrounded by its serene atmosphere.

It is time to say goodbye to Argentina and you will start the day leisurely with breakfast. Your private driver will take you to the airport at Ezeiza for your flight back home.
