Explore Argentina’s Wonders Through Eco-Lodges and Authentic Experiences in 12 Days

On arrival at Buenos Aires’ Ezeiza International Airport, you shall depart for the Tigre Delta on your private transfer. On the way to the Tigre Delta, you can enjoy the wonderful views and scenery of this amazing country. Once you have arrived at the dock, you shall board your private boat to transfer to your overnight accommodation, a charming island house typical of the area, which is full of comfort and peace. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner with local specialties and then return to your house for a well-deserved night’s rest.

Relax in a typical island house. It was constructed at the beginning of last century, restored to maximum comfort but retaining all the original features of the house. The lodging is surrounded by a unique eco system and is very comfortable to rest in harmony with nature. Enjoy the river, rest in a Paraguayan hammock, walk to the interior of the island along the path, fish in the river, watch the beautiful sunsets from the pier and savor indigenous cuisine. Any activity that you choose to do, will leave you with life long memories.

An early breakfast is served, after which you depart for the mainland. From there you are picked up by your private transfer to the airport where you take your flight to Puerto Iguazú. In the afternoon you depart for the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls and the Bird Park. From the visitor center the route of footbridges starts, a long walk through the park, with spectacular views of the 275 waterfalls that make up the Iguazu Falls. The most important waterfalls on the Brazilian side are the Floriano, Deodoro, Benjamín Constant and Salto Unión waterfalls. The climax of the tour is the visit to the Devil’s Throat, where the roar of the waterfalls will vibrate through your entire body. After your return walk to the bus you will travel back to your hotel with a stop at the panoramic glass elevator.

Today you will start the private tour to the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls. After you are picked up at your hotel, you will be dropped off at the Nationalpark Iguazú and take the ecological Rainforest Train into the Misiones rainforest. Along the 1,5 miles long track the train will take you to Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat) the starting point of the walkways to view the Falls. Here you can take a 1-2 hour walk along the catwalks to get a spectacular point of view to one of the most impressive landscapes of Argentina. After that you will proceed to the Iguazu Falls area. In this area you can choose between a 500m Upper Circuit walkway (500m long catwalks along the top of the Falls) or a few short walkways that take you around the base of the Falls from a different angle on the Lower Circuit.

Get to know the amazing rainforest surrounding your Rainforest Lodge in Iguazu. An Eco-Tour can be designed for you to explore one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in Argentina. Today’s schedule includes Canoe on the San Francisco stream after breakfast. This is the perfect spot for a safari photo in the surrounding wildlife. The forest water streams are important as wildlife corridors for the local animals. Paddling in the calm water of the forest stream is very relaxing and you can move silently through the forest. Back at the lodge you can enjoy the gardens and their strange natural wonders or the facilities of the lodge. In the afternoon there are information walks through the Misiones rainforest with specialized guides of scientific knowledge. The Misiones rainforest is rich in biodiversity, with old growth trees, medicinal plants, orchids, bromeliads, butterflies, beetles, birds and mammals.

This morning, you depart to the airport for your flight to Posadas, the capital of the Misiones Jungle region. Upon arrival at Posadas airport, you will be picked up from the airport by private transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax at the hotel or to go out and explore the area around. You have the option to visit the beautiful Ruinas de San Ignacio Miní ( UNESCO World Heritage Site by UNESCO), the remains of the Guarani indigenous people and the Jesuit missionaries that lived there. Also worth visiting is the Parque de la Cruz, from where you can enjoy a stunning view of the surrounding countryside, a vast sea of green stretching as far as the eye can reach that eventually meets a brilliant blue sky.

Today, you continue to your nature accommodation in the Iberá Wetlands, the last part of your nature trip in Argentina. Iberá is the biggest freshwater reserve of South America and is surrounded by an amazing natural landscape with many different animals like deer, capybaras, even black howler monkeys and much more. Iberá is also home to a lot of reptiles like caimans of different species, as well as snakes and lizards. Contrary to most of the other nature destinations, Iberá is not crowded with tourists and has a rural atmosphere that can be experienced here. Exploring the marshes by boat or riding horses through the shallow rivers and lakes of Iberá are only two examples to get in touch with this unique nature spot.

This beautiful 18,000 hectare wetland reserve is one of the best places to see wildlife in South Argentina. The area is largely untouched and far better than anywhere else. We offer a range of optional activities to make your time here as special as possible. Hiking through the morning wetlands from the visitor center in San Nicolas is a great place to see some of the resident wildlife on a dry land trail that goes through bush and the wetland area.

Today, you  head to the lagoon of Balneario Cacique Ira on the outskirts of San Nicolas. This beautiful lagoon is home to a few thatched huts and wooden sun beds, very popular with the locals for a dip in the sea and to spend the day on the shore. They have a long net to fish for the inhabitants of the lagoon. A boat trip through the wetlands is also another way to experience this corner of the island and to discover the beauty of nature and the villages in the area. You can go and see the sunset from a boat over the estuary, if you have time.

You will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires by a private driver. Upon your return, you will be picked up from the airport by a private transfer that will take you to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. You can learn more about the locals and the elements that define them: culture, origins, religion, tradition, hobbies and food. You can visit Boca, Caminito, San Telmo, the square of the Mayo Revolution and Diagonal Norte up to Obelisco and Av. Corrientes.

For your last morning within this trip, you have the option to do an eco-bike tour in Buenos Aires. It will be an excellent chance to see the new parts of the city as well as the more traditional ones and you will experience the huge variety of the city and its people. After this you will be taken to the airport to take your flight back home. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end!
