Itinerary
Welcome to Salta, one of Argentina’s most charming colonial cities, where Spanish heritage and Andean traditions blend effortlessly. Upon arrival, your private transfer will take you to your hotel, allowing you time to settle in and absorb the relaxed rhythm of the city. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure. If you feel like it, go out and explore the elegant main square, discovering historic churches or simply enjoying a coffee as local life unfolds around you.

Today you will visit one of the most spectacular routes in northern Argentina, where mountains shift into surreal shades of red, green and violet. Travel through Purmamarca, framed by the iconic Seven Colours Hill and continue along winding Andean roads to Humahuaca, a UNESCO-listed cultural treasure. Along the way, small villages and valleys reveal the deep-rooted traditions of the region, offering a powerful connection to indigenous heritage and daily life in the Andes.

You will spend the day touring Salta in depth and at a slow pace to visit as many places of interest as possible without being tied to a schedule. In addition to the main cathedral and San Bernardo Convent, you will visit the High Mountain Archaeology Museum, for starters. In the evening, get ready to experience a traditional peña where you can watch folk music, dance live and enjoy local food and drink. Peñas are centers of entertainment and are where local people go to enjoy traditional food, drink and to listen to live music.

Leave Argentina behind as you ascend into the high Andes, crossing the spectacular Paso de Jama into Chile. The journey itself is unforgettable, with vast altiplano landscapes, volcanic peaks and endless horizons unfolding outside your window. Arrive in San Pedro de Atacama, a tranquil desert oasis surrounded by salt mountains and ancient geological formations, where time seems to slow under the vast desert sky.

Today you explore the surreal landscapes of the Atacama Desert, beginning with the iconic Moon Valley. Here, wind and time have carved salt caves, dunes and rock formations into a terrain that feels almost extraterrestrial. As the sun begins to set, the entire valley transforms into shades of gold, crimson and violet, with the Licancabur Volcano standing silently on the horizon. This is an unforgettable natural spectacle!

Before dawn, journey into the high Andes to witness the dramatic El Tatio Geysers, one of the highest geothermal fields in the world. Steam rises into the freezing morning air as the first light reveals a stark and powerful landscape shaped by volcanic energy. Along the way, you may encounter traditional Andean villages and wildlife adapted to this extreme environment, offering a glimpse into life at high altitude.

Cross into Bolivia and enter a world of extreme beauty and isolation. Travel through the Salvador Dalí Desert, past surreal rock formations and steaming geysers, before reaching the vivid red waters of Laguna Colorada. This high-altitude lagoon is home to thousands of flamingos, creating a striking contrast against the mineral-rich landscape and vast Andean skies.

Continue deeper into Bolivia’s Altiplano, passing through the Siloli Desert where wind-carved stone formations rise dramatically from the earth. Visit a series of high-altitude lagoons, including Cañapa, Chiarcota and Honda, each reflecting the surrounding volcanoes in still, mirror-like waters. The journey concludes near the edge of the Uyuni region, where the vast salt flats begin to emerge.

Your final day unfolds across the endless expanse of the Uyuni Salt Flats, where the horizon disappears and sky and earth merge into one. Visit Colchani village, where traditional salt processing methods are still preserved, before continuing across the dazzling white plains. Later, transfer to Uyuni town for your departure, carrying with you unforgettable memories of the Andes’ most extraordinary landscapes.
