From there you continue to Bolivia and the world’s largest salt flat, the extraordinary Uyuni Salt Flats. The journey finally takes you to Peru and the mystical and awe inspiring Inca city of Machu Picchu. Day 1: Arrival in Santiago – Gateway to Chile

Welcome to Santiago, the vibrant capital of Chile. Upon arrival, your private driver will transfer you to your hotel where you can settle in and relax after your journey. Later, set out with your guide to explore the historic heart of the city, including La Moneda Palace, Plaza de Armas, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the charming colonial streets that surround them. As you continue into the modern districts of Santiago, you will discover a city that beautifully balances tradition and contemporary life. Return to your hotel for a relaxed evening and your first night in Chile.

Day 2: Valparaíso & Viña del Mar – Coastal Colors of Chile

Today you journey through the Casablanca Valley towards Chile’s vibrant Pacific coast. Begin in Viña del Mar, known as the ‘Garden City’, where elegant avenues, oceanfront promenades and the iconic Flower Clock set a relaxed seaside rhythm. Continue to Valparaíso, a UNESCO World Heritage city famed for its steep hills, colorful houses and artistic spirit. Wander through its winding streets, discover hidden viewpoints and enjoy the creative energy that defines this port city. On your return to Santiago, enjoy a scenic winery stop for a tasting of Chile’s celebrated wines.

Day 3: Santiago to the Atacama Desert – Stargazing in San Pedro

Fly north to Calama and continue into the heart of the Atacama Desert, one of the driest and most extraordinary landscapes on Earth. Settle into the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama before experiencing an unforgettable evening under some of the clearest skies in the world. With expert guidance, explore constellations and learn about Andean cosmology during a magical stargazing experience that connects science, mythology and nature.

Day 4: Moon Valley – Landscapes Beyond Imagination

Today you explore the surreal beauty of Moon Valley, where sculpted rock formations, sand dunes and salt-streaked landscapes create a setting that feels almost extraterrestrial. As the sun begins to set, the desert transforms into a palette of gold, red and violet, offering one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles in Chile. Return to San Pedro de Atacama for a peaceful evening at leisure.

Day 5: Crossing into Bolivia – The Altiplano Wilderness

Leave Chile behind as you ascend into the dramatic Altiplano and cross into Bolivia. Along the way, visit the stunning Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano before continuing through the surreal Salvador Dalí Desert. Thermal springs and geyser fields punctuate the journey before arriving at the striking Laguna Colorada, where thousands of flamingos gather in a vivid red lagoon surrounded by high-altitude wilderness.

Day 6: Altiplano Lagoons – Colors of the High Desert

Today’s journey takes you through the Siloli Desert, home to wind-carved rock formations and sweeping volcanic landscapes. Continue to a series of high-altitude lagoons, like Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiarcota, where flamingos and other wildlife thrive in this remote ecosystem. End the day in the small settlement of San Juan, where traditional life continues in harmony with the surrounding desert.

Day 7: Uyuni Salt Flats – Infinite Horizons

Enter the breathtaking expanse of the Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat. Visit Incahuasi Island, where giant cacti rise dramatically from a sea of white and explore the surreal ‘Eyes of the Salt Flat’. The endless horizon creates optical illusions and dreamlike reflections that make this one of the most iconic landscapes in South America. Continue to Villa Mar for your overnight stay.

Day 8: Return to San Pedro de Atacama

Travel back across the Altiplano, retracing dramatic high-altitude landscapes as you return to Chile. After crossing the border, arrive in San Pedro de Atacama where the remainder of the day is yours to relax, wander through the town or simply absorb the tranquility of the desert setting.

Day 9: Arrival in Cusco – Heart of the Inca Empire

Fly to Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and take time to feel comfortable in this atmospheric city of cobbled streets and colonial architecture. Spend the afternoon exploring local markets, artisan workshops and vibrant neighborhoods where Andean culture is still very much alive.

Day 10: Sacred Valley – Living Heritage of the Andes

Discover the Sacred Valley, beginning in Chinchero where traditional weaving techniques are still preserved. Continue to the circular terraces of Moray and the shimmering salt pans of Maras before visiting the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo. In the afternoon, board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes, your gateway to Machu Picchu.

Day 11: Machu Picchu – The Lost City of the Incas

Join one of the world’s most famous and mysterious sites on an expert guided tour of Machu Picchu and return to Cusco in the afternoon. A gentle walk through the temples, the agricultural terracing and the many ceremonial rooms, surrounded by scenery of misty mountains makes for a truly unforgettable day, with time to absorb the unique spiritual energy of this amazing archeological site.

Day 12: Cusco – Ancient Capital Reimagined

In the full Inca and Spanish heritage city of Cusco, the Inca civilization is very much alive. You can visit the beautiful Plaza de Armas, see the Koricancha Temple and the many other archaeological sites, including Sacsayhuamán and Q’enqo. In these impressive constructions, Inca engineers have managed to incorporate spirituality. After this interesting day you can spend the last evening of your holiday at leisure.

Day 13: Departure from Peru

Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to the airport for your onward journey via Lima.
