Arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport and meet your local guide. Transfer to your hotel and settle in. Take an evening walk with your partner through downtown San José, exploring plazas, theatres and charming cafés. Enjoy a romantic dinner featuring traditional Costa Rican cuisine, such as gallo pinto or casado.
Pick up your rental car and head to Sarapiquí. Along the way, you can stop to have lunch at a riverside restaurant to try some local dishes such as casados or arroz con pollo. In the afternoon you can return to the river to take a stroll along the banks of the jungle, visit the local markets and return to your hotel in the evening.
Visit the Tirimbina Rainforest Preserve. The preserve has some great canopy trails with hanging bridges to give excellent views of the surrounding rainforest and contains a great variety of tropical birds, butterflies and wildlife. This preserve is ideal for the more active couple, with options of river rafting or zip-lining and after all that activity sample the delights of chocolate and coffee tasting.
In the morning drive through beautiful parts of Costa Rica. Along the way there are nice views and you can take some photos. Upon arrival at Turrialba you can enjoy local Turrialba cheese and fresh fruits. In the evening you can have a romantic dinner.
Visit archaeological sites or a local coffee farm, learning about cultivation and roasting. Hike trails in Wildlife Refuge La Marta, spotting tropical birds and enjoying peaceful moments in nature together. Overnight in Turrialba.
Drive through the Cordillera de Talamanca to the Irazú Volcano, the largest crater in Costa Rica and to the old town of Cartago, the former capital of the country. From there you continue to the serene and peaceful mountain town of San Gerardo de Dota. In the evening you will be treated to a local dinner of fresh trout and local vegetables.
Today, you will go through the misty cloud forests of the region during a guided birdwatching tour in search of the Resplendent Quetzal. Along the guided tour you will learn about the unique ecosystem and can take plenty of photos. An additional interactive activity related to nature will be part of the program under the guidance of an expert. Overnight stay in the mountains.
From the mountains you descend to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica to the beach town of Dominical, where you can relax and enjoy local seafood. Spend the day and evening together enjoying the sun, the sand and the sea, watching the sunset.
Hike along Playa Hermosa and explore Marino Ballena National Park. Take a whale and dolphin watching tour for a shared memorable experience. Return to Dominical for a relaxed evening.
Visit Manuel Antonio National Park to spot scarlet macaws, monkeys and sloths. Explore Rainforest trails that meet pristine beaches and coral reefs. Enjoy a sunset picnic before returning to your accommodation.
Spend the day exploring Carara National Park with guided hikes or take a crocodile tour along the Tarcoles River. Alternatively, relax on a secluded beach and enjoy full immersion in the natural surroundings.
Enjoy a final morning strolling San José with your partner, perhaps shopping for souvenirs or enjoying a local café.
