Once you have landed at Lima Airport, your private driver will greet you and take you to your hotel. Relax and get some rest for your exciting journey ahead.
On your 2nd day, you fly to Puerto Maldonado, where your guide will meet you at the airport. After a short drive, head to the river port and embark on a boat ride to your rainforest lodge. Along the way, you’ll spot wildlife and enjoy the natural beauty of the Amazon.
After breakfast, choose from a variety of rainforest activities such as canoeing on Oxbow Lake, hiking through the jungle or a canopy walk to get a bird’s-eye view of the rainforest. Visit a local farm and learn about the plants and crops of the Amazon.
Today, enjoy your last morning in the rainforest before taking a boat and car ride back to Puerto Maldonado. Then, catch your flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. Upon arrival, explore Cusco’s Main Square and get familiar with the city.
Visit the stunning Sacsayhuaman fortress, which overlooks Cusco, before heading to Pisac in the Sacred Valley. Explore Pisac’s archaeological site and hike down to the village, taking in the beautiful Andean landscape. Enjoy a local lunch and visit the famous Pisac market.
Early this morning, travel by train to the start of your Inca Trail trek. Hike through beautiful Andean landscapes, passing through Wiñay Wayna ruins before arriving at the Sun Gate, where you’ll get your first view of Machu Picchu. Enjoy your time at the ruins and take a shuttle bus to Aguas Calientes.
Visit Machu Picchu early in the morning and enjoy a guided tour of this world-famous site. Afterward, take time to explore the site on your own. Then, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the Vistadome train to Ollantaytambo before heading back to Cusco.
Enjoy some free time in Cusco to explore or relax before transferring to Cusco Airport for your flight to Lima. Once there, enjoy some free time before your outbound flight back home.
